Do spas need safety barriers?

🏊‍♂️🚧 Important Spa Safety Regulations in Victoria! 🚧🏊‍♀️

In Victoria new legislation is taking safety seriously, especially when it comes to keeping kids safe. As a responsible swimming pool or spa owner, it's essential to stay informed about the mandatory safety measures to protect young children.

According to the guidelines set by the Victorian Building Authority, all swimming pools and spas with a water depth greater than 300 mm (30 cm) are required to have compliant safety barriers. This includes various types of pools and spas:

✔️ In-ground pools and spas
✔️ Above-ground pools and spas, including relocatable and inflatable ones that can hold more than 300 mm (30 cm) of water
✔️ Indoor pools and spas
✔️ Bathing and wading pools that can contain more than 300 mm (30 cm) of water.

So our job at Pool Safe is to make sure your pool or spa area is both secure and enjoyable for everyone. 😄 Here's what you need to do:

👨‍🔧 Book a consult or inspection of your safety barrier and complete any rectification works required to ensure your barrier is compliant.

🔒 Keep those barriers in top-notch condition to restrict access to the pool or spa area.

🚪 Make sure gates and doors leading to the pool or spa area remain closed at all times (except when you're entering the pool or spa)..

You can complete the self assessment CHECKLIST yourself and get in touch if you have questions.

By following these regulations, you're not only complying with the law but also ensuring the well-being of our kids. Let's make swimming a worry-free experience for everyone involved!

Stay safe 🏊‍♂️💦
