What does non-climbable mean?
🏊♀️ Essentials for a Safe Non-Climbable barrier 🏊♂️
When it comes to your pool fence, we want to ensure you have all the vital information at your fingertips. Safety is key, and avoiding common pitfalls can save you time and effort. Let's dive into the must-know points:
1. Mind the Climb Points: Keep a watchful eye on objects like tables, stairs, trees, and raised garden beds. Give them a little distance from your fence to maintain its safety and compliance.
2. No Doors Allowed (for some pools!) : If your pool was built after the 1st May 2010 you need to ensure there are no doors from the inside of your home that lead directly to the pool area (outdoor pools only). Keeping access points secure is crucial.
3. Fence Height Matters: Your fence should stand at least 1200mm tall from the ground to the top. It's a simple yet essential element for a sturdy barrier.
4. Keep it Non-Climbable: Small adventurers love to explore, so create continuous 900mm non-climbable zones or this may need to be 1200mm depending on the date of construction. This keeps their climbing efforts at bay.
5. Window Considerations: Windows in the pool area should open less than 100mm or have a security screen for added safety.
6. Effective Height: Objects nearby can impact your fence's "effective" height. Be mindful of what's around to meet safety standards.
Creating a secure and compliant pool fence doesn't have to be complicated. By keeping these points in mind, you can confidently enjoy your pool area without any worries. Give us a call on 0493 362 410 or email Jimmy Rushton at jimmy@poolsafevic.com.au
